On the road again

Back on the road again after a hearty breakfast. Heading to Franz Joseph Glacier today. Itís raining pretty steadily so itís likely the heli hike wonít operate. BUMMER Iíve always wanted to land and walk on a glacier. Oh well. Next time. Poked around town and bought some wine, cheese and nibbles for dinner and some fruit and muffins for breakfast. The accommodation has a kitchen which was well equipped. Made for a relaxing night.

West Coast

picked up car and headed up the West coast. Took the scenic route so stopped a couple times for photos. Had a light lunch and a little retail therapy in Wanaka and then headed to Haast and the Wilderness Lodge. We met Sara and John who manage the lodge. They were wonderful hosts. Went for a quick walk through the rainforest and fed some eels. After a while they start to look kinda cute. John does double duty as chef at the lodge. He fixed an awesome meal and suggested Peregrine Pinot Noir. Very good and just the perfect end to another perfect day in New Zealand.

Itís late afternoon and we are back in Queenstown. There is a new wine tasting place in town and itís really fun. You get like a credit card and then select the wines you want to taste. Very interesting. Think itís about time for a Fergburger, Queenstownís hottest burger joint. Sat outside and saw several people from the boat. Burger was HUGE!
